Director Dave Schoenwetter
Term: 08/06/2025 – 12/06/2026

As our newest board member, Dave looks forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the community’s needs, addressing key issues, and exploring how he can add value through the WCSD.

Dave and his wife, Liz, moved to Wrightwood from Upland, CA, during the Narrows Fire in the fall of 1997. Impressed by the fire response, clear communication, and strong sense of community, they have considered Wrightwood their home ever since. They have three grown children who attended SJUSD and now enjoy watching two of their seven grandchildren do the same. Dave and Liz remain active in their church and love taking road trips each month to visit their other children and grandchildren.

Now retired, Dave spent most of his 43-year career optimizing the use of high-value facilities and government flight assets. He has held executive leadership roles in aerospace, entertainment, and education.

Dave holds an M.S. in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle University, where he focused on enhancing facilities and aircraft infrastructure with modern technologies. He also earned a B.S. in Management and Human Resources from Cal Poly Pomona, with an emphasis on strategic, data-driven decision-making and employee motivation. In addition, Dave is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a trained Master Black Belt, with three years of national consulting experience in business process improvement.
